Detroit Lakes based artist, Hannah Irene Marie, has a background in printmaking and painting with a Bachelors in Studio Art and Art History from the U of M Morris. While attending school, she interned at the UMM on-campus gallery, as well as at Cartavetra in Florence, Italy. She has been included in a variety of juried exhibitions throughout her career, along with a solo gallery show, “Introspection & Pomegranates”.

Hannah finds meaning through the practice of introspection and creates art in order to then connect with others through shared experience.

Using linear elements along with organic imagery or texture, she creates a clear and simplified space for intermingling between the two. Her illustrative work focuses on a graphic style of form through line and is often inspired by current events, a subtle nod to a cheeky joke, or just the desire to make someone smile to themselves and maybe take another look.
