(Detroit Lakes, MN – June 8, 2026) – VFW Post 1676, in partnership with Project 412, is inviting artists of all ages to participate in the America250 – Detroit Lakes Community Art Showcase, a community exhibition celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The showcase provides an opportunity for artists to explore and express what America means to them through original artwork. The exhibition is open to artists of all ages and experience levels, with no entry fee required.
“This exhibition is an opportunity for community members to relect on America’s past, present, and future through the lens of creativity,” said VFW representative, Jason Bristlin. “We hope artists of all ages will share their unique perspectives as we commemorate this historic milestone.”
A total of $3,500 in awards will be presented, including: First Place: $1,500, Second Place: $750, Third Place: $500, and People’s Choice Award: $750.
