The Story of the Art

A Walk Underwater

Recent Detroit Lakes graduates and artists Chloe Leegard and Lilly Baethke gifted Detroit Lakes colorfully and creatively through their Senior capstone mural project on the pathway to Dunton Locks under West Lake Drive in Detroit Lakes.

We appreciate Chloe and Lilly’s artistry in transforming a basic concrete pathway into a colorful go-with-the-flow walk underwater to inspire pedestrians to pause and linger with delight.

About the Artist

Chloe Leegard

I’m Chloe.

I’ve always been interested in the arts. I’ve been drawing and painting since I was young, and it was something that I found myself good at.

I really dove into my skills going into high school and I wanted to push my creativity to be the best it could be.

I also do photography and love to find the art and beauty in everything. I’ve just always had an eye for the arts.
