The Detroit Lakes Poetry Walk is a grassroots public art project supported by Project 412 that displays original poems in the cute town of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Detroit Lakes Poetry Walk is a public art project supported by Project 412. We currently offer two outdoor public poetry walks each year in Detroit Lakes. Our goal is to inspire and promote poets of all ages and offer fun ways to make the art of poetry accessible to everyone in the community.
2024 will be our third annual Polartry Poetry Walk, showcasing roughly 30 poems in our City Park during Polar Fest, DL’s annual celebration of winter. Our summer version, Flowerpot Poetry Walk, plants poems in the gorgeous giant flowerpots that Downtown Alive coordinates with Bergen’s Greenhouses through the generous support of community donors.
